Mid-way through the 2008-09 NFL season, the Eagles fans wanted to run McNabb and coach Andy Reid out of town. McNabb for apparently not knowing the NFL rules for overtime and Reid, because well that’s what the Eagles and their fans do. After coach Andy Reid benched McNabb, it all seemed about over for the quarterback that has led the Eagles to mutli NFC Championship games and even a Super Bowl. Then something magical happened, the Eagles led by McNabb caught fire and began streaking. After losing to the Ravens (the game where McNabb was benched), they went on to win 4 of the next 5 games and clinched a playoff berth and found themselves just missing out on another trip to the Super Bowl in a heart-breaking loss to the Cardinals. So what’s next for the Eagles? They added more help for McNabb as far as receivers go and they look ready to take over the NFC East this season. Every team has a huge question mark hanging over their head in the division and the Eagles seem the most stable of the bunch at the moment. Can McNabb finally get himself a Super Bowl ring? Or is the final chapter of his career with the Eagles before they decide it’s time to give Kevin Kolb the keys to the offense and let him run the show? Posted in 1 | No Comments »
