Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie made some proud predictions after deciding in 1996 to make Bethlehem his team’s summer roost. The Birds’ stay at Lehigh University, he said, would provide a jolt to the team’s Super Bowl quest and the Lehigh Valley economy and would bring in fans by the thousands.
