Rucker, who got drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL draft out of Missouri, was released due to a lingering hamstring injury and the fact that the Eagles tight end depth had suffered after several tight ends had injuries.

Not much else going on in the NFL world today.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie says Michael Vick’s mistake in judgment shouldn’t be confused with any wrongdoing. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell told Vick yesterday he will not face disciplinary action following a shooting at the quarterback’s birthday party in late June.

Following an investigation into the shooting at Michael Vicks birthday party, the NFL has cleared the Eagles quarterback to play, according to the Philadelphia Daily News . Despite the fact police said Vick would not be implicated in the shooting, the NFL could have still disciplined him under the personal conduct policy
